Days of '47 Art Contest Winners

Congratulations to our 4th Grade coloring page contest winners!

In celebration of Utah’s history, The Days of `47 Inc., has partnered for the last three years with the Utah PTA in sending home a copy of “The Days of `47 Activity Book, "Celebrating Utah’s History” to each 4th grade student in the state to enrich their Utah history studies curriculum. The Activity Book gives a brief introduction to Utah History, and also helps students learn more about The Days of '47 events, which celebrates Utah's past and present pioneers. The booklet is a tool to be used by parents to read with their child and discuss ways they can celebrate Utah’s History throughout the summer. Our desire is to spark an interest and excitement in the children who've gained an understanding of how our state came to be through their fourth grade studies.

The Activity Book contains a "Celebrate Utah" coloring page contest for all fourth graders who would like to participate. The winners are judged in four categories:

1. Utah PTA Pioneer Award
2. President's Choice Award
3. Most Patriotic
4. Most Original

The winners recently rode in the Youth Parade, July 19th, in downtown Salt Lake City.
