Utahns can celebrate The Days of ’47 activities by watching or participating in one of the largest youth parades in the United States on July 20, 2013. In just a few blocks, you will see marching bands, creatively decorated floats, performing groups and, of course, several thousand children having a grand time.
We think you’ll like watching the Union Pacific Railroad entry in the 2013 Youth Parade. We were thrilled to coordinate with them to commemorate their 150th anniversary in 2012. The 2013 Youth Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. Be sure to get the kids up early and on their way to this fun-filled parade so everyone can beat the heat then enjoy the Family Festival’s learning activities and games at the end of the Parade in Washington Square (200 East and 500 South, Salt Lake City). Parade lineup begins at 8 a.m. The deadline to submit entry applications is April 15, 2013. Please review the entry forms below for additional information.
More Fun: One float participating in the Youth Parade which best portrays The Days of ’47 theme for 2013 “Pioneers — Our Anchor for the Future” will be chosen by the judges then invited to participate in the “Big Parade” on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. All the Youth Parade’s mini-floats will be invited to our Preview Party at South Towne Expo on July 22nd and 23rd — a great opportunity to see all the main Parade floats and talk to their creators. The crowds adore the Youth Parade floats, so don’t miss this opportunity!
