About the Event
Celebrate The Days of ’47 activities by watching or participating in one of the largest youth parades in the United States on July 22, 2017. In just a few blocks, you will see marching bands, creatively decorated floats, performing groups and, of course, several thousand children having a grand time.
The 2017 Youth Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. Be sure to get the kids up early and on their way to this fun-filled parade so everyone can beat the heat then enjoy the Family Festival’s learning activities and games at the end of the Parade in Washington Square (200 East and 500 South, Salt Lake City). Parade lineup begins at 8 a.m. The deadline to submit entry applications is April 1st, 2017. Please review the entry forms for additional information.
The Youth Parade float which best portrays The Days of ’47's 2017 theme “Pioneers — Visions of a New Horizon” will be selected by the judges then invited to participate in the “Big Parade” on Monday, July 24, 2017. All the Youth Parade’s mini-floats are invited to our Preview Party at South Towne Expo on July 17th and 18th — a great opportunity to see the main Parade floats and talk with their creators. The crowds adore the Youth Parade floats, so don’t miss this opportunity!
